GB1 at The Grand

Today we decided to treat my mum to a nice lunch in Brighton. We decided to go to the GB1 seafood restaurant at The Grand Hotel which opened in 2013.

The decor inside is really lovely and relaxing and we took our seats in the terrace part overlooking the sea.

First things first we ordered cocktails.

I went for the classic Whiskey Sour which was amazing

Claire had a Lady marmalade Martini

and Mum had a Grapefruit Bellini

All of them were exceptionally good and boozy.

We ordered some Scallop popcorn and waited for our mains to arrive

I ordered the Lobster Burger and was a bit underwhelmed with the size for £19. It came with fries and slaw.
And a Lobster Claw!!!

Minced coastal Lobster with salmon and bacon which tasted nice but the patty was quite crumbly. The brioche bun was soft and the fries were decent.
Claire ordered the special. Red Snapper, Polenta and Bacon.
My mum ordered the Whole Plaice which was really impressive but we forgot to take a picture.
Then we moved onto dessert.

I had the Tiramisu Sundae. Coffee and Mascarpone sponge, Amaretto biscuits, Vanilla and coffee Ice cream.

It was so good, one of the best desserts I've ever had.

Claire ordered the Lemon Meringue. Butter Shortbread, Lemon sauce, Lemon ice cream, Lemon curd and Meringue.

And Mum had the Grand Sundae. Jam sponge, Fresh fruit, strawberry ice cream, meringue, strawberries and cream.

We shared and tried all 3 but mine was definitely the best.
We finished off with a coffee and enjoyed the sun beaming through the blinds.

We will definitely be back to GB1, especially for the sundaes.
