Xmas at Meat Liquor
Christmas had come early yesterday, Meat Liquor had released a 'cracker' of new XXXmas delights for you to feast on this festive season.
And with the offer of 50% off all day I was there to try what they had on offer.
A tray of presents arrived at our table
First up was the Xmac & Cheese - Deep fried miniature logs of mac fused together with cheesy Camembert and Stilton, to be dipped in a pot of cranberry and port sauce.
These were amazing! I could eat a whole tray of them alone. Look at that gooey cheese
Mac 'n' Cheese is my Kryptonite so to have it in a crispy breadcrumb is another level and dipped in that sauce - so good!
Next up was the XXXmas burger - A sausage and stuffing patty, topped with roast turkey, crispy bacon, a drizzle of cranberry sauce and gravy.
It's basically Xmas dinner in a bun and love it. I might even do this for our boxing day meal with some hand cut chips this year. I love a french dip sandwich so anything with gravy is a winner for me
Last of all was the XXXmas Dog - Bacon wrapped(no bow!), draped in turkey slices, cranberry coulis and sprinkled with crispy stuffing.
prepared to get messy, this was stuffed with generous helpings of succulent turkey and crunchy stuffing. It's hard to pick between the dog and burger so its OK to indulge at Christmas and have both.
They also had some new Xmas drinks to try if you want to make a night of it.
Check it out and I'm sure Yule love it too.

Smokin' Gringo at Sidewinder
Let's Taco bout a great Mexican in Kemp town Brighton.
We also ordered the chicken quesadilla
It was nice and flaky but lacked in flavour compared to the taco.
I would check them out if your in the area. The pub is trendy and has a great atmosphere but remember food stops at 9pm

24 St Georges
Today was our anniversary so let me tell you about our visit to this gem of a restaurant in Kemp Town.
24 St Georges has been on the list to visit for a long time and has rave reviews on trip advisor and blogs in Brighton.
We arrived after a quick drink in the Ginger Dog pub and took our seats.
Claire was looking excited to try this place.
We ordered cocktails and perused the menu
I had the Al Capone - Bourbon, Amaretto and Cranberry
Claire had the Elderberry Fizz and some olives to snack on
We decided to go for the Menu Du Jour - 2 or 3 of the highlighted courses for £19.95 or £22.95.
But first they served us amuse-bouche
One was beetroot and horseradish macaroon with goats cheese and walnut bread and the other a Rabbit dish(I cant remember as I was eager to eat it!). Both were fantastic and a lovely touch to start.
For starter we had the Sussex Smokie - Smoked Haddock, sussex cheddar morney, leeks and crispy egg. The flavours were amazing as were the textures of the dish.
For main we had the Seabass with squashes, spiced cauliflower, spinach, apple and celeriac fondant with a vanilla foam.
Everything about this dish was great and the ingredients complimented each other well. I particularly liked the spiced cauliflower.
For dessert we had the Lady Grey - Lady Grey cake, ginger panna cotta, poached rhubarb and walnut ice cream
Wow the ginger panna cotta was to die for. Absolutely delicious!
Claire had the Chocolate brownie with a lovely surprise from the Kitchen!
Chocolate Brownie, pistacho custard, figs and fig ice cream. This was another incredible dish.
We finished off with Cappucino's and home-made truffles.
All in all 24 St Georges was a 5* experience. Fantastic venue, excellent waiter service and first class food at amazing value for £22.95.
I'm sorry 24 St Georges that it's taken so long to visit but will definitely be back very soon and cannot recommend them enough.
They certainly should have been winners on the Brighton food awards list.
